Ernest (Ernie) C. Hoch

Ernie has been actively involved in all facets of solid waste and recycling for more than 30 years. He began his career by helping develop early recycling regulations and managing properties in New York. As a former Municipal Marketing Manager for Waste Management, he worked with dozens of local governments and large manufacturing facilities to manage their waste and recycling operations. He also served as Director of Public Works in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he managed landfills, collection systems, and water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. As a former County Administrator for two counties in Virginia, his responsibilities included oversight of all county operations and legislative affairs.

Ernie has developed, designed, constructed, and operated virtually every type of private- and public-sector solid waste and recycling system. He is certified as a Class I and II Landfill Operator in Virginia and Indiana and as a Certified Zero Waste Consultant. He is also a member of the Solid Waste Association of North America, including the Florida, Indiana, and Caribbean Chapters and the Landfill Management Division, as well as the National Solid Waste Management Association and the International City/County Management Association.

His accomplishments and experience in both the private and public sectors enable him to provide clients with the highest level of service, environmental stewardship, and sound counsel.
